For Destyn Hamada, general manager of Brezza at Resorts World Las Vegas, it’s all about the next generation. “I found that I really loved leading a team and cultivating talent and watching them bloom and blossom,” she says.

Having mentors throughout her own career is partly how Hamada got to where she is today, she says, and now it’s her turn to be the mentor. While pursuing a career on Broadway, Hamada began working at restaurants in New York City to make ends meet, and those jobs turned into a passion. She climbed the ladder from hostess to server to bartender and eventually management. Hamada spent six years in New York before she moved to Las Vegas in 2007 to ramp up her career in the industry.

Since then, this boss lady has managed restaurants across the Strip and worked with top chefs before finding a home at Brezza this past September. “It’s elevated dining yet comfortable and approachable,” Hamada says.

Her favorite part of her job is mentoring the staff. “It’s what really feeds me,” she says. “I am grateful for my career path, the places I got to work, the chefs I got to work with. I have somehow found a way of traversing through this labyrinth of amazing mentors and chefs and opportunities that have led me here. I am quite grateful for coming to Vegas and that I’ve been able to influence the next generation.”

Libation: Quintessential

New to Brezza is the Quintessential, featuring, for the first time in North America, Amaro Nonino Quintessentia, an amaro created from a female-owned-and-operated amaro house. The spirit is mixed with Knob Creek bourbon, Marolo Milla & Chamomile Grappa, Giffard Apricot and Angostura bitters and then barrel aged for six weeks.

Benefit: Check out the all-new cicchetti (small bites) menu served exclusively in the lounge from 3:30-5 p.m. daily.
