While other parts of the country are still under winter weather, in Las Vegas pools are dusting off cabanas, laying out daybeds and lounge chairs and stocking the bars. Yup, pool season is kicking off, and it’s time to make a return to Flamingo’s Go Pool. The long-running pool club received a complete upgrade last summer, and the results are truly stunning.
Stretched across nearly 2 acres, Go Pool offers five distinct pools, including three VIP escapes, a grotto pool hidden behind a 50-foot-wide waterfall and the main pool with a shaded swim-up bar and multiple TVs and a DJ booth that sits atop the grotto. Among the best new features are the various wet decks spread throughout the main pool, where guests can lounge on a daybed or sofa and can easily dip into the cool waters. The three VIP pools offer cabanas with their own dipping pools and a more mellow, upscale vibe; the circular VIP pool is a secluded oasis with a 40-foot round infinity pool and 15-foot waterfall.
Added to the offerings last year was a new cocktail menu with elevated, handcrafted choices in categories like lemony, frozen, zero-proof, skinny, tropical recipes and high-end spirits. Popular choices include the Skinny Spice, a blend of Maestro Dobel Diamante tequila, Chacho jalapeño aguardiente, agave nectar, lime juice, club soda and Tajín; the The G.P.L. (Go Pool Lemonade), made with New Amsterdam raspberry vodka, lemonade and topped with Chambord black raspberry liqueur; and the Pear of Hearts, a delicious combination of Maestro Dobel Diamante tequila, Belle de Brillet pear liqueur, strawberry purée and lime juice. Additional libations on the menu include hard seltzer, spiked and canned beer options and shots.
Pair cocktails with poolside bites like a breakfast burrito, Greek yogurt and granola bowl, loaded fries, street taco trio, Southwest rice bowl, buffalo chicken salad, nachos platter, vegetable crudité with hummus and various sandwich options.
Go Pool has DJs that spin daily, with everything from throwback classics to today’s jams. Admission is complimentary and the main pool offers complimentary lounge chairs, but it’s on a first-come, first-serve basis, so getting in line early is suggested.
