Sabrina Beckman was a 19-year-old pursuing a mathematics degree at UNLV when she started working at Caesars Palace as a lifeguard.

“I found I really liked the hustle and bustle ... the constant movement,” said Beckman, as she recalled her early days at Caesars Palace. She liked it so much so that she set her sights on the pool manager position and changed her major to hotel management. When the ambitious Beckman earned that promotion, she immediately started charting the course to her next role.

Now, a 23-year-old Beckman is assistant beverage manager for the resort and when she’s not making bar operations run smoothly, she’s working on her golf game, training for a half marathon or familiarizing herself with the world of craft beers. On the job, she spends much of her day with guests, which is often as much about customer service as it is a learning experience.

“When you have that opportunity (to work for) people that have been around the world, you get to really travel through their experiences,” says Beckman.

Only time will tell where Beckman’s journey will take her next, but she calls on her experience growing up in Vegas to make sure guests are happy and taken care of. “I’ve grown up in this industry, so I have the perspective from when I was a guest, from when I was an employee and to being a manager,” says Beckman. “I’ve been through it all.”

The recently revamped Caesars Palace Race & Sports Book might surprise you with its selection of high-end spirits and craft beers on tap, but Beckman says it simply recalls the sporting event heritage of Caesars Palace. Just as surprising: the ABSOLUT.® Elyx Bloody Mary. Absolut Elyx vodka, tomato juice (with a perfect amount of spice) and celery bitters make this more of a zesty game-day libation than a hair-of-the-dog hangover cure. The blue cheese-stuffed olive garnish offers a delicious post-drink treat.
