Where does a wild child party? At Double Barrel Roadhouse. “I’ve always been a party girl, always kind of restless,” said Erica Lowe, who works as a bartender at Double Barrel, Monte Carlo’s Stripside restaurant and bar.

“This is not just a restaurant. Yes, you’re going to have good food, but here, you’re going to have fun. The roadhouse part—that’s the atmosphere, the people that work here,” Lowe said. “Girls dancing on the catwalk, bands playing, shots and drinks—it’s all about the experience.”

What you’ll also get at Double Barrel, besides one of the best views for people-watching, is Lowe’s service. Behind the wild-child persona, Lowe is much more. “I bring the Southern hospitality to Las Vegas,” she said. Born in Huntsville, Ala., and raised in Atlanta (although she considers herself more of a country girl), Lowe has been bartending for about a decade. A move to Las Vegas about two years ago affirmed her love for industry. “Las Vegas is the best place to come and learn, and make bartending a career,” she said. Bartending for Lowe is more than just a career, though; it’s a personal achievement.

“I’m great at what I do. I’ve always been able to read people, to connect with my guests,” she explained. “I just want to make everyone’s time at my bar special. As a bartender, you need to be the person that saves the day, makes guests feel special. That’s one of the coolest parts about bartending.”

Don’t let the word roadhouse fool you. It’s not cheap suds and eats at Double Barrel. The venue has elevated taste, recipes and presentation with its all-American food offerings, and the cocktail offerings get the same attention. Handcrafted specialty cocktails are plentiful, served in kitschy Mason jars for fun. Perfect for the last days of summer, the BLVD Bulleit is smooth and refreshing, mixing Bulleit bourbon, lime juice, simple and ginger syrups and muddled fresh mint.
