In Las Vegas, it can sometimes seem like there is a sharp divide between old-school acts—crooners and comedians and variety shows—and new-school performers like Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group. But Vegas shows mostly fall along a spectrum, and some performers easily straddle the line between classic and modern styles. Wayne Brady is one such performer, and although it’s been awhile since his resident show ended, he’ll be right at home on Feb. 27 in Vegas.

Brady is a comedian, a singer, a dancer, a TV personality and a pop-culture Renaissance man, and his live performances reflect all of his various talents. He delivers quick-witted jokes in a warm manner, and he can rattle off uncanny musical impressions just as easily as he can sing a standard in an entirely straightforward style. Brady’s best known for his improvisational skills, first demonstrated on Whose Line Is It Anyway? (recently enjoying a successful revival on the CW), and improv remains a big part of his act.

The busy Brady is also the host of the latest version of the game show Let’s Make a Deal, and he likes to include the audience as part of his live show as well, taking questions from fans and soliciting suggestions for improv games. He’s a modern performer with an affinity for old-school showmanship, and anyone who sees his show can experience the best of both worlds.
