While that “other” festival will be flooding downtown this weekend, Backstage Bar & Billiards welcomes a separate and more intimate downtown musical experience, Later! Louder!, presented by Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada.

It’s a roundup of eclectic sounds with The Dirty featuring Las Vegas music sensation Franky Perez kicking off the festivities on Oct. 24. Joining the bill that evening are the hard-rocking sounds of Dirty Hooks followed by a performance by the Rat Pack music-loving Franks & Deans.

You weren’t anyone in the ’90s unless you wanted to do some regulating just like Warren G, so “mount up” as the rapper headlines the second evening of music on Oct. 25. He’s joined that night by garage punk-pop band Pet Tigers. Bringing back the surf music sound, with some pretty impressive electric guitar riffs to boot, are The New Waves.

Later! Louder! wraps up the weekend on Oct. 26, with Everclear, Las Vegas regulars who dominated the ’90s rock charts. They’re fronted by Art Alexakis, quite possibly the most popular platinum-blond boy in rock music history. The People’s Whiskey, who love to define their music by Vegas geography (“low cash Henderson trash” and “Boulder Highway punk country”), and Chicago-based Blues Brothers tribute band Blooze Brothers round out the bill.
