The latest performer in The Venetian’s Lipshtick series, Loni Love may not be a household name, but chances are most TV viewers would recognize her face and her laugh. That’s thanks to numerous appearances on VH1’s talking-head commentary shows like I Love the ’80s, plus stints as a regular panelist on E!’s Chelsea Lately and currently on the roundtable talk show The Real.

For people who are used to seeing Love as one voice among many, this will be a chance to get her perspective unadulterated, with her thoughts on pop culture, personal relationships and her own unusual past (she had an entire career as an electrical engineer before pursuing stand-up comedy full-time).

She may also offer up some tongue-in-cheek advice, as she does in her recent book, Love Him or Leave Him, But Don’t Get Stuck With the Tab. Love calls herself “America’s sister,” and with her book and regular appearances on Loveline, she lives up to that moniker, doling out hilarious, no-nonsense life lessons for the misguided.

The Venetian, 10 p.m. Oct. 10, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11, starting at $52.25 plus tax and fee. 702.414.9000
