Who hasn’t had a dream about flying? Well, there’s an easy way to experience the feeling, and it doesn’t involve a plane of any sort. Vegas Indoor Skydiving lets the average Joe (or Jolene) get a taste of that free-fall fun.

The attraction, conveniently located close to the Strip, puts visitors into a vertical wind tunnel with 120 mph blowing upward, creating enough lift to put most folks in the air. It’s all contained, with a trampoline-style floor and padded sides.

Before your flight, your instructor will give you a short training session. Make sure you are wearing proper clothing beforehand, including sneakers and socks; after all, you don’t see a real skydiver jumping out of a plane wearing only sandals. Then you’ll dress the rest of the part, with special gear including a flight suit, earplugs, goggles and a helmet, and head into the chamber.

After you get up in the air, see if you can get into that classic skydiver pose; it’s easier than you’d think. You do need to be relatively physically fit, as it can be somewhat strenuous. (But you can handle it!) The folks at Vegas Indoor Skydiving can also film you and take pictures, so that flight can be immortalized forever.

Who knows? Maybe the whole thing will inspire you to jump out of that airplane … or maybe you’ll just have to have another go on ground level.
